Varsity Field Hockey
Karleigh had an incredible offensive game vs. Bethlehem. Her work off the ball and cutting made a huge difference in opening up lanes to get the ball to space. She scored what would be the winning goal off a penalty stroke.
Sophomore quarterback Jake Iacobaccio made a big splash in his debut as a Bison. In front of a TV audience and a huge crowd, Jake led the team to a 28-7 win over perennial power Burnt Hills. Jake ran for 2 touchdowns and also threw for a score. Jake had 95 yards rushing on 13 carries and threw for 136 yards.
JV Field Hockey
Olivia Lovly hasn't allowed a goal against Shaker in the past 4 games. Against Guilderland, this freshman had an outstanding game with 12 saves; 3 days later she had 6 saves against Burnt Hills.

Ani Gregori Asadourian
This junior won the deciding match against Niskayuna, giving Shaker a 5-4 win. Ani lost the first set 3-6 before rallying to take the second set in a tiebrake 9-7, and the third set 6-1. Ani trailed in the tiebrake 3-6 and held off 3 match points - losing any one of them would have given Niskayuna the overall match win. She then defeated her Niskayuna opponent decisively in the third set 6-1 to seal the Shaker win.
Sofia served an amazing game against Averill Park with 10 serving aces,11 kills, and 11 digs. She was a steady, consistent player who helped take the win over Averill Park.
According to the Times Union article, "Shaker senior speedster Mayah Wheeler produced her own celebration as she notched three goals [a hat trick] to lead the visiting Blue Bison to a 3-1 victory [over Colonie]."
